important history:

kithood ▎His mother was a rogue and his father was a WaterClan warrior. He was conceived in impulse rather than love, and his mother left him with WaterClan as soon as he was born. He was nursed by a foster mother and his father was distant at best. Frostkit had no other family, but he did have friends.

apprenticehood ▎Frostpaw became the deputy's apprentice and, in his early days, worked desperately to make his father proud of him. By the time he became a warrior, however, he had given up entirely and grew to despise his father, who had never paid his son a single kind word. Throughout his apprenticeship, the deputy's daughter, born at roughly the same time as Frostpaw, was his best friend - Lilypaw.

15-19 moons ▎Frostpaw became Froststripe, and Lilypaw became Lilyheart. The two began courting almost right after their warrior ceremony; on their silent vigil, she leaned against his shoulder. Never had he been so happy. The two dreamed of a happy life together, happy kits, and growing old together. Froststripe was an outstanding warrior, and very responsible, and as such he was given his first apprentice, a tomcat by the name of Toadpaw. Close to the warrior's twentieth moon, some relationship problems began to pop up between he and Lilyheart, but things got better when it was discovered she was with expecting. Froststripe was made deputy at an extremely young age, which alarmed some because the current leader was old and on her last life. Many voiced their concerns, but it was better to have a young and healthy deputy than their senile and mentally unwell longtime leader. It's argued the only reason she appointed such a young cat was because she couldn't think straight.

20-25 moons ▎Lilyheart had two healthy sons, but there was no rejoicing. Neither looked like either parent, but instead an awful lot like Lilyheart's tom friend, Darkwing. It didn't take a genius to piece together what happened, and soon they even admitted it. Froststripe, heartbroken and longing for acceptance and to feel wanted, turned to a more promiscuous lifestyle but remained very emotionally distant from others. It was painful for him to watch the she-cat he loved being happy with somebody else, but at least she was happy. Meanwhile, the leader at the time fell ill.

26 moons - present day ▎The leader died, and extremely young Froststripe was thrown by force into the position despite the fact his head was still spinning from his lover's betrayal. Toadpaw's training was continued, though it had suffered a little in the moons since. Froststar did his best to balance "romance" and his apprentice, and Toadpaw became Toadstep in due time. Since then, not much has changed. Froststar has shown himself to be a surprisingly good leader despite his young age and lifestyle shortcomings.

descriptions: A lithe white tabby with reddish eyes. The first thing many cats notice about this young leader are his eyes, pale metallic red in color. They grow more intense towards their center, and in the right light give off a faint reddish glow. Outlined in black, they are piercing and attention-grabbing features on the tom's handsome face. His youth is downplayed, however, by a certain skinny look to him induced by a short yet already stressful and demanding life that leaves him looking older. The tom's limbs, long and striped in black mackerel tabby bands, seem more fit on an AirClan cat, four gifts from his mother. Beneath his thick coat, his muscles aren't hidden in the least by fat - but again, he isn't much muscle at that. His only really intimidating traits are his height - his long limbs and generally narrow build put him above most other cats physically. He's definitely more speed than raw power. His fur is white as a base, even lighter along his underside and upon his paws. Arching in generally smooth lines along his body are black stripes, some thick and some little more than visible. Very few scars show, and his ears are unmarred unlike many battle-worn warriors. Most of his battle scars are on his limbs, which are easier to reach than his ears or face. His tail is a little longer than most cats', but it's in proportion to his lengthy legs. Despite the general image of elegance and maturity, his nose is still an innocent shade of pink, matching his paw pads and the inside of his mouth.



roleplay sample:

It was a dreary, rainy day in camp - but water didn't bother a Waterclan cat. Especially not the leader, still so young and lacking the aches and joint pains of the elders. He watched his clan silently from atop a particularly large piece of driftwood near his den. It seemed so lonely without other warriors sleeping nearby, but then again, he did like the distance and privacy of having a den all to himself. Froststar couldn't really imagine his life being much different than it was, considering he'd spent so little time actually sleeping in the warriors' den. Froststar had, for the most part, slept beside Lilyheart in the nursery and before that, he'd been an apprentice. Now he was leader, and it seemed to be the right thing for the tabby tom. Casually, he licked one paw and drew it over his face; the tom had to keep his mostly pale fur clean if he was to look the part of a good leader. Metallic red eyes narrowed slightly as a raindrop hit daringly close to them.

Activity in the camp was as expected. A few warriors and apprentices rested in what cover they could find, eating and sharing tongues. Froststar watched a small kit play in the rain, before it was ushered out of the cold by its worried and fussing mother. A little smile crossed the leader's striped face - it was good to see the future of the clan was in capable paws. Chances were, he himself would live to see more generations grow up and find love than he could really keep track of. Old age wasn't something he looked forward to, the frailty and delicate nature of the elderly, with their old war stories and fading eyesight. Froststar already missed youth, the rush of being a young warrior fresh out of his mentor's paws and into the world on his own (for the most part.)

But now he was old and cold and damp, and he no longer had a feeling of defiance and rebellion towards everything that tried to stop him. The spider leader leapt from his perch to the ground and made his way over to the fresh-kill pile, selecting a fish just the right size for a leader without much of an appetite, Taking it in his jaws, the tabby tom took his break under a clump of driftwood where he was in sight, in case he was needed, but at the same time no other cats had yet staked this place out.
